Modlin Fortress is one of the biggest and best preserved fortresses in Poland. It is located at a confluence of Vistula and Narew Rivers, around 40 km north-west off Warsaw. The fortress is composed of a citadel on Narew’s right bank, reinforced bridgeheads: Kazun and Nowy Dwor, and two rings of forts. Modlin Fortress was remodeled on many occasions and contains elements of French, Russian and Polish fort.
