The Maciej Ślesicki and Bogusław Linda Foundation for Film Education and Art LATERNA MAGICA

The Maciej Ślesicki and Bogusław Linda LATERNA MAGICA Foundation for Film Education and Art was established in 2004 to carry out cultural and educational activities related to audiovisual arts.

From 2005 to 2011 it was the running body of the Warsaw Film School. Since 2011, the film school has been a university, and the Foundation is an organizer of cultural and educational events.

LATERNA MAGICA is an organizer of courses, workshops and trainings related to the art and technique of filmmaking. In cooperation with the Warsaw Film School, it regularly organizes cinematography and editing workshops for middle and high school students. Since 2012, it has been a co-organizer of the Script Fiesta Festival for screenwriters.

The Foundation regularly cooperates with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the Polish Film Institute, the School Film Library, the National Cultural Center and other cultural institutions in Warsaw and Poland.

Since 2015, the Foundation has operated the Elektronik Cinema, which, after more than a decade of closure, has managed to put itself back on the map of Warsaw.
