National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute

Filmoteka Narodowa – Audiovisual Institute (FINA) – Polish national cultural institution located in Warsaw, a budgetary unit subordinate to the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. It was established on April 29, 1955.
The mission of the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute is:
- Collecting, cataloging, preserving and restoring, and providing access to collections and documentary materials relating to the national audiovisual heritage,
- Co-creation, production, recording and promotion of cultural works of a high artistic level for broadcast on public and private media programs,
- Production of audiovisual materials of a high artistic level on issues related to culture, science, education for broadcasting on public and private media programs or the Internet or disseminating them in other ways,
- Conducting educational, scientific, publishing and cultural activities.
Since its inception, it has been a member of the International Federation of Film Archives, an organization that brings together most of the world’s film archives. The institution’s collections of film tapes and archival materials are among the largest in Europe.
The institution is the operator of the Sieć Kin Studyjnych i Lokalnych.
